Thermal Race League Rules
Version league-2, applicable from Thermal Race 1.1.3 onward.
The League is a friendly monthly competition. By participating, players agree to respect other pilots, the way the game operates, and the decisions required for tasks to run properly.
1. Account and nickname
Each person may use only one League account. Sharing an account or using several accounts simultaneously as the same person is prohibited.
Nicknames must remain readable and respectful. Insulting, discriminatory, sexual, political, promotional, or impersonating names may result in a forced rename or exclusion.
2. Daily task operation
The daily lobby normally opens at 8:50 PM Paris time. The task starts at 9:00 PM according to the server clock. Late entry may be accepted until 9:05 PM, but the pilot's time is still calculated from 9:00 PM.
A daily task is valid only when at least two pilots are present at the start. It closes once every pilot has finished or landed, and no later than 9:45 PM.
The seed, course, and conditions are identical for all participants. Manually scheduled test tasks do not count towards the standings unless explicitly stated by the administration.
3. Results and standings
A task awards up to 1,000 points, mainly according to validated distance and the time of pilots who reach the goal. A pilot who lands or disconnects keeps the best progress validated by the server.
The monthly standings add together each pilot's best scores. The number of retained scores is 50% of the valid daily tasks in the month, rounded up. An absence counts as zero for any retained-score slot not covered by a participation.
If pilots have the same number of points, they remain tied.
4. Reconnection and technical incidents
Reconnection may be offered after an interruption, with no guarantee once the task has closed. The server is authoritative for time, progress, turnpoint validation, and results.
A general outage or an incident that compromises fairness may lead to a task being cancelled or corrected. An individual connection problem does not automatically cancel the task.
5. Fair play
Players must not modify the client, automate piloting, falsify transmitted data, deliberately exploit a bug, disrupt the server, or attempt to obtain a task's hidden conditions.
A bug that provides an advantage must be reported and must not be reproduced during competition. A violation may result in an invalidated result, exclusion from a task, or account suspension.
6. Administration and data
The administration may correct or remove a clearly incorrect result, review reports, and exclude an account in case of abuse. Decisions and technical corrections are recorded in the administration log.
The service stores only the information required to operate the League: internal identifier, nickname, sessions, participations, results, and temporary technical traces. Thermal Race account passwords are hashed and are never stored in plain text.
7. Acceptance
Participation requires acceptance of the current version of these rules. A significant change may require players to accept the rules again in the application.
